Welcome to the Web Page of the Institute for Research and Education in Play.

This Institute was set up to deepen the subject of Play with a broader criterion, without any restriction to a discipline in particular.  For this purpose, we have specially taken into account two pillars: research and education.  Through them, we expect to delve into this subject, integrating different disciplines and orientations together with renown professionals in this field.  The goal of the Advisory Board is to offer, through our Institute, an excellent academic level in all our tasks.

I would also like to take this opportunity to extend my special thanks to the board members for having generously accepted to be involved: Alice Meckley, Ph.D.; Prof. Dr. Tizuko M. Kishimoto; Prof. Margarida Pinto do Amaral; Anthony Pellegrini, Ph.D. and Peter Smith, Ph.D.

After some many years working in this subject, we believe it is necessary to provide our Institute with a more regional profile, blending the particular and specific visions of our country and those of Latin America.  In our activities, we integrate all the studies conducted so far on a global basis, but also, we want to strongly bet on achieving our own regional identity in order to pinpoint differences and similarities in this area so that field work increasingly adjusts to the needs of each and every community.
